Network Travels Ltd (NTL) is a proudly Nigerian IATA accredicated Travel Agency prodividng Travel Management Services to a wide range of corporate and private clients.
BACKGROUND AND CLIENT BASE
NTL was established in 1984 as the first & only General Sales Agency (GSA) for British Caledonian Airways in Nigeria, later becoming a Travel Shop for BA when it took over BCA, until 1998 when NTL became an IATA accredited Trvel Agency. In 1992, NTL commenced services for Mobil at their Terminal in Akwa Ibom State, providing the reservations system for company flights and international ticketing, and for the last decade has been contracted to ExonMobil for field international & domestic travel.
NTL is headquatered in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, and her most notable corporate client has been Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited. Another notable corporate client is Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria Ltd, Nigeria's oldest airline, and NTL has been in their service since 2002 providing Travel Management Services. NTL's client base covers much of the South of Nigeria with organisations ranging from the South West to the South East, all of whom are supported by NTL's network of six offices nationwide from where it is able to provide excellent service quality.
REPUTATION IN THE INDUSTRY
NTL has a long standing reputation of reliability, trust and mutual respect within the Nigeria Travel Industry which dates back to the the early days of operation as a British Caledonian Airways GSA. NTL was one of the first agencies in Nigeria to have the British Airways e-ticketing solution installed in its premises, along with valuable airline standard training in e-ticket issue, due to its status as one of their “Preferred” agencies. NTL regularly recieves award recognition from various arilines such as BA, Lufthansa and Air France / KLM, and are one of only a few Nigerian Travel Agencies entitled to process Credit Card* sales in-house, a fact which illustrates the high rating which it possess in the industry.
PRODUCTS & SERVICES
NTL is able to issue domestic and international e-tickets directly from its systems for a range of airlines including British Airways, Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, Qatar Airways, Delta Airlines, South African Airways, Iberia, Emirates, Ethiopian Airways, Turkish Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, Afriquiah, Kenya Airways, United Airlines, Alitalia, Air Nigeria, Air Ivoire, ASKY, Virgin Atlantic, Aero Contractors, Arik and Dana Air, with arrangements that allow it to ticket on most other airlines in other parts of the world.
TECHNOLOGY, AUTOMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS
NTL was the first Travel Agency to launch a travel website in Nigeria as its management recognised early on the importance of technology in improving efficency and ease of access for our clients. All NTL offices have direct Internet access to the airline GDS, Amadeus. In addition NTL operates the TRAMS / Client Base Plus Back Office solution which provides efficicent electronic invoicing and comprehensive reporting options. NTL has also developed a Corporate Travel Request soluton which it deployed for Aero Contractors to process, authorise and track its staff international travel. In addition NTL provides its website (www.networktravels.net) as a portal for its customer, and the general public alike, to access essential and up-to-date travel related information such as visa requirements, ariline website links, etc.
MEET THE TEAM
Margaret Ekerete is the NTL Managing Director and a ‘Nigerwife’ of British origin and who has now recently acquired her Nigerian citizenship. She has been elected to the executive council of National Association of Nigerian Travel Agents on 3 occassions.

Kenneth Ekerete is a director of NTL and attended Loughborough University and UMIST (University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology) in the UK where he obtained his BSc(Hons) in Ergonomics and MSc in Computer Science. His work experience includes several blue chip companies, including Cable and Wireless, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Glaxo Welcome and British Airports Authority.
Russell Ekerete is a director of NTL and attended Salford University where he obtained his BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and Information Systems. He worked briefly in the UK in the IT sector before returning to Nigeria to join Network Travels, before later becoming the Information and Communication Technology Manager for Aero Contractors.
*Use of credit cards is currently limited as this facility has not yet been opened up for the Nigerian BSP market.
